Managerless Brazil are seeking their first win of 2023 when they play Guinea at La Liga side Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium in Barcelona on Saturday.
Still without a head coach following Tite’s exit after their 2022 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal exit in December, the Selecao were beaten 2-1 in Morocco in March in the only match they have played since losing to Croatia on penalties at the finals.
Guinea’s defeat to Egypt in Marrakech on Wednesday means they may need a point from their remaining two qualification matches to secure their place in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Sporting News is following Brazil vs Guinea live and providing score updates, commentary and highlights as they happen.

2 hours to KO: Hello and welcome to The Sporting News’ coverage of Brazil vs Guinea! The third-ranked team in the world may be facing opponents 76 places below them this evening, but the African side are in better form after beating Ethiopia twice in four days in March and taking the lead before losing to Egypt on Wednesday, a result that still leaves them on the brink of Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
Brazil aren’t really in any form. Their only game since their surprise 2022 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal exit to Croatia in December — a result prompting former boss Tite’s exit — was a 2-1 defeat to Morocco in Tangier in March, when Manchester United’s Casemiro scored for them in between the hosts’ goals. Can the five-time World Cup winners earn their first victory of 2023 tonight?
