When does 2023/24 Premier League start: Complete details, kickoff date for new season
With the 2022/23 Premier League season now wrapped up, plans for the start of the 2023/24 campaign in the English top-flight, are already underway.
Except for clubs involved in the FA Cup final, UEFA Champions League final, or the UEFA Conference League final, all the other teams will officially be in offseason mode from the start of June.
There is a FIFA international window in June, meaning most Premier League stars will not be jetting off on holiday until their international commitments are fulfilled, with club pre-seasons generally scheduled to start up again in mid-July.
Summer tournaments and transfer gossip will fill the void for Premier League fans before the big return in August 2023, and The Sporting News brings you everything you need to know on the start of the 2023/24 season.

When does 2023/24 Premier League season start?
The Premier League has already confirmed their key dates for the 2023/24 season with the official start date set as Saturday August 12, 2023.
However, that date could be moved forward by a day, as has been the case for the last two seasons, with a special Friday night opening match.
Three promoted sides in Burnley, Sheffield United, and Luton Town will join the fray, taking the places of relegated clubs Southampton, Leeds United, and Leicester City.
Brentford beat Arsenal 2-0 in the 2021 season-opening match held on a Friday (August 13), but the Gunners came back to win the 2022 season opener at Crystal Palace by the same 2-0 scoreline (Friday, August 5, 2022).
After nine months of play, a champion will be crowned no later than May 19, 2024 which will be the final day of the season.

When is 2023/24 Premier League fixture release date?
The Premier League are wasting no time at the end of the 2022/23 season, which comes to a close on May 28, with the 2023/24 fixture list due to be announced on Thursday, June 15 at 9 a.m. BST / 4 a.m. ET.
The new fixtures announcement is always an important date for fans, but the schedule is invariably subject to changes, based on broadcast requirements, with the initial list only a framework for the season.
However, it does set in place Premier League matches for key dates on the calendar, including fixtures around Christmas and the New Year.
The schedule for the coming season will see the return of the winter break, but only for one week, as teams will get a short pause in play from January 12 to January 20, 2024.
Additionally, no two rounds of fixtures will take place within 48 hours of each other across the holiday season as the league hopes to gives clubs a bit of breathing room during a busy time.
When is 2023 Community Shield?
The Community Shield, previously known as the Charity Shield, is the traditional Premier League season curtain-raiser contested the weekend before the first top-flight game of the new campaign.
The FA and the Premier League have confirmed that will continue for 2023/24, with a Wembley Stadium date set for August 6, 2023.
The match pits the defending Premier League champions against the FA Cup winner, however, if one team secures both trophies in the previous season, the top two finishers in the Premier League will face off.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle will compete in the coming Champions League tournament.
With England as the highest-ranked association by UEFA coefficient, all four clubs will enter the competition in the group stage.
The 2024 Champions League final will take place on June 1, 2024 and be held in London’s Wembley Stadium, meaning any English club reaching the championship match will have home field advantage.

Europa League season schedule for 2023/24
Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion will compete in the coming Europa League tournament. It will be the first European adventure in Brighton’s history as a club.
With England as the highest-ranked association by UEFA coefficient, both clubs will enter the competition in the group stage.
The 2024 Europa League final will take place on May 22, 2024 and will be held in Dublin, Ireland at Aviva Stadium. The venue, which opened in 2010, seats just under 52,000 fans and regularly hosts matches for the Republic of Ireland national team.

Europa Conference League season schedule for 2023/24
Aston Villa is the Premier League club which will compete in the coming Europa Conference League tournament. It will be Aston Villa’s first European play since they were involved in the 2010/11 Europa League, failing to reach the group stage as they were eliminated by Rapid Vienna in the playoff round.
With England as the highest-ranked association by UEFA coefficient, Villa will enter the coming Conference League competition in the playoff round. The only teams that enter the competition directly in the group stage are those dropping down from the Europa League playoff round.
The 2024 Europa League final will take place on May 29, 2024 and will be held in Athens, Greece at Agia Sophia Stadium. The brand new venue, which opened in 2022, seats around 32,500 fans and is the regular home of AEK Athens as well as a regular host of the Greek national team.
