NCAA men’s lacrosse tournament bracket 2023: Schedule, TV channels, scores and players to watch

CJ%20Kirst%20051123

The NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse tournament is nearly underway.

The tournament opens on Wednesday with a play-in game between Marist and Delaware before the tournament proper begins on Saturday with the first slate of several first-round blockbuster matchups.

That includes No. 4 seed and defending national champion Maryland opening its tournament against Army: The Terps are one of four Big Ten teams to make the 2023 tournament, including automatic qualifier Michigan, which made a Cinderella run to the conference championship. The Wolverines will play No. 8 Cornell, last year’s runner-up, on Sunday.

The winner of that game will likely get to face off against Duke, which by earning the top overall seed of the tournament will play the winner of the play-in game between Marist and Delaware. The ACC — which does not get an automatic bid into the tournament — has two other teams in the initial 17-team field: No. 2 Virginia and No. 3 Notre Dame, which face off against Richmond and Utah, respectively.

Elsewhere, No. 5 Penn State will play Ivy League champion Princeton while No. 6 Johns Hopkins plays Bryant. No. 7 Georgetown rounds out the first round with a matchup against Ivy League at-large Yale.
