Iowa vs. LSU live score, updates, highlights from 2023 NCAA women’s basketball championship

nba canada 93ff07f8 cb94 4079 bcd4 11364f31e400

This year’s women’s March Madness has been unusual, in many ways. For example, no 1-seed made it to the championship game.

Iowa, a 2-seed, is in the title game for the first time. It secured that program first by handing top overall seed South Carolina its first and only loss of the season in the Final Four. Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark tied Virginia Tech’s Georgia Amoore’s record for most 3-pointers made in an NCAA Women’s Tournament; both have 24. Clark also scored 41 points for a second consecutive tournament game. She had 41 in her historic triple-double in the Elite Eight against Louisville.

LSU, a 3-seed, rode the backs of transfer Angel Reese and fifth-year Alexis Morris to its first national championship game. The pair combined for 51 points against No. 1 Virginia Tech in the Final Four. Reese tied the NCAA record for most double-doubles in a season with 33.
