Stephen Curry eagles Hole 18 at American Century Championship for walk-off win
Stephen Curry’s clutch gene doesn’t work for just basketball, it seems.
A day after the Warriors superstar drained a hole-in-one from deep at the American Century Championship on Saturday, Curry earned a walk-off win at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course with a Hole 18 eagle to beat Mardy Fish.
Curry found himself down three points to Fish as the pair began their last hole of the tournament (the ACC uses a modified Stableford scoring method). Fish was in position to secure his third win at the ACC. Unfortunately for him, an unidentified patron at the club pulled an all-time bush-league move to ruin his tee off 18:

What was bad for Fish (he ultimately salvaged par on the hole) was exactly what Curry needed to get back in it. He had set himself up for a 15-foot eagle, the only shot left he could make to win the tournament.
Naturally, he sank it, beating Fish 75-73 and winning the $125,000 winner’s share in the process:

“I’ve always dreamt of a situation like this on an 18th green in front of a crowd like that to make a putt,” Curry told NBC Sports after the tournament. “You just stick to the routine. Have so much confidence in yourself and live with the results. Thankfully it went in, which is insane. Been playing in this thing for almost a decade and to finally get a win, it’s pretty special.”
Curry did acknowledge that what happened to Fish was unfair.
“You have to acknowledge it, it was an unfortunate situation,” Curry said. “A guy trying to sabotage what was going on for a moment. Mardy is such a class act. I complimented him for the way he bounced back to give himself a chance to win.”

Curry’s walk-off eagle wasn’t just a flash in the pan, either. He hit a similarly impressive hole-in-one the day prior on the par-3, 152-yard seventh hole.

Curry has a future in golf if he’s ever tired of dominating on the basketball court. Some athletes just have it all.
